Jeff Butterfield
Director of Lumera Recovery Pathways and Clinical Nurse Specialist
Hello, I'm Jeff Butterfield, founder of Lumera Recovery Pathways. I’ve committed myself to supporting individuals on their recovery journey for over two decades.
My story began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Curtin University, driven by a profound interest in mental health. Following a rewarding career in acute mental health settings, I found my purpose in treating those afflicted by alcohol and other drugs.
Acknowledged at the Nurse of The Year Awards in 2015, I shifted to community-based treatment, offering genuine support directly in clients' homes. Subsequently, I coordinated an inpatient addiction therapy program before founding Lumera Recovery Pathways.
My focus is on tailoring personalised treatment pathways, empowering clients and families while nurturing trusting relationships on their unique path to recovery.
Those afflicted by drug and alcohol problems are some of the most vulnerable and stigmatised people in our community. I am working to help our community recognise that they deserve nothing but the best health care.
For all my clients that have allowed me to help and work with them, I would like to acknowledge their courage, honesty and hospitality. Being able to support people through their most personal and sensitive issues in their own homes is a true privilege. And seeing them resolve some of these issues is the greatest privilege of all.
